My Learing Tree - Kindergarten Skills was designed from the ground up with the collaboration of educators and based soundly in current research. The app offers a number of features your kindergartener or preschooler will enjoy as they digest the material. The curriculum fits early Kindergarten material as well as preschool concepts such as colors, numbers, shapes and early reading.
My Learning Tree - Kindergarten Skills is based on two trees. In the basic three, the child must learn to associate the word for a number they see, the word for a pure color and the word for a pure shape. In the advanced tree, the child must count a number of real world objects, recognize the color of a real world object and recognize the shape of a real world object. For example, the child must recognize that an egg is actually an oval, that a flower is actually pink, etc. By moving from the abstract to the particular, a child learns to transfer concepts learned in the classroom to the real world.
The app features motivational tools to help keep the child interested. There are subtle animations which add an interesting depth. Rather than using a typical scoring system, the child must get a ladybug to the flower on the top of a ruler. If the child misses answers, the ladybug turns around and goes the other way, thus spending more time on material that he/she is having trouble mastering. Finally, the app features peer voices which provide encouraging feedback and helpful prompts.
